Yuen Method
A bioenergy modality based, in part, on the natural healing principles of traditional Chinese medicine, the Yuen Method proposes that the body works similarly to a computer, in that certain functions can be on or off, strong or weak. Like the view of many in natural medicine, the Yuen Method seeks to get to the cause of pain or dysfunction rather than simply treat symptoms. It claims to quickly alleviate health problems, providing relief at a faster pace than modern medical technology.
The general idea behind the healing method is that humans struggle to understand their natural abilities, and so the goal of therapy is to make patients aware of their many levels of consciousness. The Yuen Method uses properties of Chinese energetic medicine to unblock the flow of energy in the body; however, unlike some approaches to natural healing, it implements forms of western thinking. Disciplines can include anatomy, physiology and quantum physics. Its creator, Dr. Kam Yuen, D.C., worked as a structural engineer and studied martial arts, nutrition therapy and homeopathy.
